ELASTIC SHIELDING OF BUILDINGS

Urbanisation is increasing. Consequently, new buildings located on plots of land subject to vibrations are being constructed every day. The sources of disturbance are frequently nearby railway lines, roads or industrial complexes. Unless appropriate action is taken, such buildings are defenceless against these vibrations. With the sound control solutions made from Getzner’s Sylomer® and Sylodyn®, vibrations and secondary airborne noise – transmitted via elements such as ceilings and walls – are counteracted in a targeted manner.

Machine foundation bearings

During operation, machines excite solid objects and machine components, generating oscillations. This in turn leads to secondary airborne noise or structure-borne noise, resulting in noise and vibrations. These vibrations have negative effects on the surrounding manufacturing and quality processes as well as the adjacent areas and environment.

We can provide a tailored vibration isolation solution for all types of rotating equipment and machine. The elastic bearings made from Getzner’s Sylomer® and Sylodyn® reduce emissions to an acceptable level and thereby ensure a more peaceful environment.

Floating Floor

Entering a room produces so-called impact noise, which is a special type of structure-borne noise. Impact noise radiates into the adjoining rooms and creates disruptive noises. This can become a problem – particularly in multifunctional buildings, such as commercial buildings – if a kitchen or a fitness centre is located above office premises, for example.

The elastic bearing of the floors over an Acoustic Floor Mat or the use of Acoustic Floor Blocks counteracts this problem. These soundproofing measures are made from the materials Sylomer®, Sylodamp® and Sylodyn® and offer many advantages.

Fitness Centre

For operators, the location of a fitness centre plays a important role, but due to noise protection regulations, not every location can be selected for this purpose. This is why noise reduction measures are particularly important during the planning stages of a fitness studio. G-fit by Getzner is a product line based on high-tech elastomers, which are installed in the floor or adapted for fitness equipment. This means that they block disturbing noise and vibrations even before they arise.

Elastic decoupling of internal structures

We offer effective Getzner’s products and solutions for mounting ceilings and wall linings. Elastic ceiling hangers reduce the sound transmission from ceilings. Along with the Sylomer® products, Isotop elements (particular combinations of steel springs and Sylomer® bearings) are also used for more effective sound reduction.

Sound decoupling of wall linings works in a similar way: in order to reduce sound transmission into or out of adjacent rooms, wall linings are frequently used in the drywall. The sound radiation is also significantly reduced here due to an elastic attachment.

The combination of suspended ceilings, wall linings and floating floor structures creates what is known as room-in-room construction. For areas with particularly stringent acoustic requirements. The acoustic products plus Sylomer® and Isotop® elements prevent sound bridges at the attachment points. This means that the transmission of airborne and impact noise can be reduced to a minimum – even if a sound control measure is not technically feasible in the adjacent rooms.

Elastic decoupling of lift systems

Lifts are used to transport individuals or loads between two or more levels in a moving cabin. During operation, the starting, stopping and general movement of the cabin generates vibrations that are transmitted to the structure of the building and perceived as structure-borne noise.

The bearing of the drive and cables in particular using Sylomer® and double elastic Isotop® SE-DE elements can achieve excellent decoupling results. Solutions with Isotop® SE-DE meet the requirements of bearing class EL3 in accordance with VDI 2566. Most solutions are implemented with natural frequencies of between 10 and 15 Hz. It is highly recommended that appropriate decoupling measures are considered right from the start, during the planning and design phase of the lift system.
